Marfeldt Photography app: privacy

Last updated 26 October 2026.

The Marfeldt Photography app is free, has no ads, no account and no tracking. This page explains the little it does with your data.

Your location

Only when you tap “Near me” or “Where I am”. For the weather and the sky it is rounded to about 10 km before it is sent to marfeldt.com, which asks the weather services on your behalf. Your location is never stored on the server and never shared with anyone else. A position you add to a sighting or a nature report is part of that public post (rounded to about 5 km for sightings, about 100 m for nature reports and about 5 km for protected species).

Camera and motion sensors

The Sky lens shows the camera picture with the stars drawn on top and uses the compass and tilt sensors to know where you point the phone. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.

Things you post

Sightings and nature reports you choose to share are published on marfeldt.com and in the app for everyone, with the name you give (optional). To limit spam the server keeps a daily-changing code made from your connection, never your IP address itself. Posts on the sightings board are deleted after 7 days. You can ask for any post to be removed.

Stored on your phone

Your language, chosen place, saved places, alert settings and copies of the map and guide data, so the app works without signal. Uninstalling the app removes them.

Notifications

Alerts are worked out on your phone from public data. No push service or advertising ID is used.

Data from others

Maps: Maa- ja Ruumiamet (Estonian Land and Spatial Development Board). Weather: MET Norway. Space weather: NOAA. Photos and texts: Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia, Ajapaik, RMK, iNaturalist, eBird. Opening links and maps sends you to those services, whose own privacy policies apply.

Privaatsus

Marfeldt Photography rakendus on tasuta, reklaamideta, ilma kontota ja ei jälgi sind.

Asukoht

Ainult siis, kui vajutad „Minu lähedal“ või „Minu asukoht“. Ilma ja taeva jaoks ümardatakse see enne marfeldt.com-i saatmist umbes 10 km täpsuseni. Asukohta ei salvestata serveris ega jagata kellegagi. Vaatlusele või loodusteatele lisatud asukoht on osa avalikust postitusest (ümardatult).

Kaamera ja liikumisandurid

Taevaläts näitab kaamerapilti koos tähtedega ning kasutab kompassi ja kaldeandurit. Midagi ei salvestata ega saadeta.

Postitused

Jagatud vaatlused ja loodusteated avaldatakse kõigile. Rämpsposti piiramiseks hoitakse päeviti muutuvat koodi, mitte sinu IP-aadressi. Vaatlused kustutatakse 7 päeva pärast. Võid paluda iga postituse eemaldamist.

Telefonis

Keel, valitud koht, salvestatud kohad, teadete seaded ja kaardiandmete koopiad. Rakenduse eemaldamine kustutab need.
