How to install
Until the app is on Google Play, it comes straight from this site. Android asks a couple of extra questions for that; this is what they look like.
- Download it on your phoneTap “Download for Android”. It is 131 MB, so Wi-Fi is the better idea.
- Open the fileFrom the download notification, or from Files → Downloads.
- Allow your browser to install itAndroid says it can’t install unknown apps from this source. Tap Settings, switch on “Allow from this source”, go back and tap Install.
- If Play Protect asksIt doesn’t know apps from outside the store yet. Tap “More details”, then “Install anyway”.
- Open it and pick your placeAllow location only if you want “Near me” and the weather where you are. Allow notifications for the alerts.
- Install the phone app firstThe watch gets everything from the phone, so set that up and open it once.
- Turn on developer options on the watchSettings → System → About → Versions, then tap “Build number” seven times. On a Galaxy Watch: Settings → About watch → Software, tap “Software version”.
- Switch on wireless debuggingDeveloper options → ADB debugging and Wireless debugging on, then “Pair new device”. The watch shows an address and a six-digit code.
- Send it from your phoneDownload the watch file on your phone, open a free installer app from Google Play (Wear Installer 2 or Bugjaeger, for example), enter the address and code, and choose the file.
- Add the tiles and readoutsSwipe to the tiles, scroll to the end and add the Marfeldt ones. For the watch face: press and hold it, Customise, and choose Marfeldt in a slot. Then switch wireless debugging off again.
